Shipping policy


All orders from Scent of the Dead are packed and shipped with care from the United Kingdom. We aim to make delivery straightforward, transparent, and reliable.

Dispatch Times

Orders are typically dispatched within 1–2 days of being placed.
This is a maximum timeframe — many orders ship sooner, but we allow up to two days to ensure every package is prepared correctly.

You will receive a confirmation email once your order has been shipped.

Delivery Method

All orders are sent using:

Royal Mail Tracked 48

This service provides tracking and delivery updates so you can follow your order once it leaves us.

Shipping Costs

  • £3.40 flat rate on orders under £29

  • Free UK shipping on orders £30 and over

Shipping costs are calculated automatically at checkout.

Tracking & Notifications

Once your order has been dispatched, you will receive an email containing your tracking information. Please allow time for the tracking system to update after shipment.

Delays & Courier Issues

While we always aim for prompt delivery, delays can occasionally occur due to courier issues or circumstances beyond our control.

  • If your order is delayed by the courier, we will refund the shipping cost.

  • If you no longer wish to keep the item due to a delivery delay, you may return it for a full refund. In this case, we will provide a return label.

Delivered but Not Received

If a parcel is marked as “delivered” by the courier but has not been received:

  • We will investigate the issue with Royal Mail.

  • A refund will be issued pending the outcome of the courier investigation.

Incorrect Address / Returned to Sender

If a parcel is returned to us due to an incorrect or incomplete address provided at checkout:

  • The order will be refunded automatically once received back.

  • The original shipping cost will be deducted from the refund.

Shipping Restrictions (Perfume & Safety Compliance)

Our fragrances contain alcohol and are classified as flammable liquids under transport regulations. To ensure public safety, we strictly follow Royal Mail’s shipping guidelines for perfume.

  • Maximum bottle size: 150ml

  • Maximum per parcel: 4 items

  • All packages are prepared and labelled in accordance with Royal Mail safety requirements.
